These fossilized Mako shark teeth belonged to the species cosomopolitodus. These teeth were collected in south eastern riverbeds in the United States. The Giant Mako shark lived in Earths oceans 31 to 1 Million years ago. They were fearsome predators likely feeding on small whales and small mammals. Giant Mako sharks descendants can still be found swimming in our oceans today as the modern great white sharks.
