These Rebbachisaurus teeth come from the Kem Kem formation located in modern day Morocco where 120 years ago these dinosaurs thrived. Rebbachisaurus belong to a family of dinosaurs named sauropods the famous long necked dinosaurs. They could grow to lengths of about 66 feet and weigh a whopping 15,000lbs. Their teeth are excellently evolved to efficiently eat vegetation. Unlike other herbivores, sauropods have incredibly simple teeth. In fact they're one of the only groups of herbivorous animals in history where this is true. Scientists can determine a lot about an animal based on their teeth, molars for example are perfect for grinding up plant material so they're more expected in herbivores which is why its so strange sauropod dinosaurs just have "peg" teeth. Those strange peg teeth were perfectly adapted for stripping trees and other plants for their nutrient rich leaves.
Most teeth feature intact wear patterns on the tip of the tooth from grinding against other teeth and wear throughout their use back 112 million years ago. Small portions of these teeth may be missing due to feeding wear or other damage or just as a part of fossilization. They are available in three sizes: Small (0.10 to 1.0 inches) Medium (1.0 to 1.5 inches) and Large (1.5 to 2 inches) .
