These teeth come from Squalicorax, a prehistoric shark from the Cretaceous period. They are also commonly called "crow sharks," and their teeth can be identified by their curved crowns and serrated edges.

Size: 0.75 to 1 inch long

What was Squalicorax?

Much like other ancient sharks, most of what we know about Squalicorax comes directly from its fossilized teeth. This is because sharks are mostly cartilaginous, which doesn't typically preserve very well in the fossil record. However, their teeth preserve excellently! It is believed that Squalicorax were potentially preying upon the notoriously violent mosasaurs that it shared the Cretaceous oceans with.

Each purchase includes a glass top display box and an informational card about the fossil.
