This set of earrings contains soil from the KT Extinction Layer collected in Slope County, North Dakota. Our KT layer samples are divided into three different colored sections: the grey soil is from the Cretaceous, the brown soil is from the post-dinosaur Paleogene, and the darkest section marks the meteor impact that made the non-avian dinosaurs go extinct! All three make an appearance in these earrings.
Also included in these earrings are small fragments of Triassic petrified wood from Madagascar, Jurassic dinosaur bone from Utah, and pieces of the Muonionalusta meteorite. Crushed black tourmaline and topaz have been added as well to create a visually stunning color contrast.
Each pair is in a 8mm setting made from 304 grade surgical steel, making them hypoallergenic and tarnish resistant.
This item is a Fossil Hoard exclusive and is produced in collaboration with Mari Mar Galleria, a Pennsylvania based creator of custom rings! Check out their website here: www.marimargalleria.com.
Each ring includes a box, satin storage pouch, and microfiber cloth.
